Sunkissed Mommy Solange Knowles is celebrating her son’s birthday today. Daniel Julez Smith turned 5 today and while we want to add to the tons of well wishers sending him birthday greetings we also want to send her a quick shout out. As mothers we know that birthdays are more than just cake and ice cream, they are subtle accomplishments for us. Another year. It’s no small feat. Another year of good health, tough love and daily lessons. Everytime I see a picture of Solange, I see him. Not because they resemble, but because she is always with him. Every year we say a quiet prayer of gratitude for getting us through. So while we are sure she kissed him tons today, we tip our hats for a “so far so good” job well done.
